Send It

Apparently there’s this popular thing going around social media with someone doing something and saying “send it!” or something–I have no idea XD. I don’t know what that’s all about, but it’s become a big thing in my youth group. I think it started during a volleyball game at the youth retreat, and now I can’t go to a youth meeting without hearing those two words.

Basically, it means to “just do it.” You shouldn’t let your fears get in the way of doing what Jesus has called you to do. It may be difficult, it may require some hard work on your part, but you need to just do it. Just send it for Jesus. Give it your all.

So as I mentioned in a previous post, I’m going to be baptized on the 10th–which is tomorrow. And to be 100% honest with you I’ve been a nervous wreck all week. It’s all I can think about. Some days I was able to fight anxiety, keep my eyes on Jesus, and just keep walking forward. But other days I wasn’t so victorious. I keep thinking about all the people who are going to be in the crowd, and the devil has tried to make me believe that my fear of being baptized is pathetic. And because that’s pretty much what my entire testimony is about, he’s made me believe that I’m going to get up on stage and sound really pathetic. My fears don’t even compare to what some people have to face each and every day and now mine suddenly seem insignificant. But they’re still there, tormenting me every second of every day.

But you know what? When I get up on stage tomorrow, nobody in the crowd is going to matter. Nobody is going to laugh at me, because my story is MY story. All that matters is that I’m taking a step of faith and being obedient to God. That’s why I’m being baptized– not to please people! So yes, it’s going to be hard and scary. But no matter what happens, I’m going to SEND IT.
