I just celebrated my 15th birthday this past weekend, and it was great! My dad and I went out for breakfast, my mom and I went thrift shopping for clothes, and we got “Moe bowls” (aka earmuffs) from Moe’s Southwest Grill. It was a really great day.

But the one part that I hate about birthdays is that they’re always followed by a doctor’s appointment. There’s something about doctor’s offices that has always intimidated me. In years past, I’ve worked myself up so much and gotten so anxious that when I got into the actual room I just burst into tears. My appointments always go just fine, but for some reason I always fear I’m going to be told I have a rare disease or something incurable (or even something that is curable). But I was determined to not let that happen this time. I decided to chose faith over fear. With God’s help, I was able to practically forget about it and live life this past week exactly as I normally would. I woke up this morning feeling great, walked in full of confidence, and walked out perfectly fine. Life’s so much better when you’re not weighed down by unnecessary stress! While I’ve realized that for a long time, I could not seem to figure out how to actually live anxiety-free. But now I pray, give all my problems to God, and choose faith over fear. My God is bigger than my worries!

As I begin this new year, I can’t wait to see what God is going to do. I’m officially 15 and one year away from driving. I shall send it and triumph, for my King reigns!
